Extensive venting through the spider, pole piece, subcone, and coil gap promotes airflow and keeps the driver cool, minimizing compression even during demanding playback.
Optimized Motor for Low Distortion
A triple-stacked, FEA-optimized magnet assembly drives the SS8-22, creating a strong and symmetrical magnetic field that ensures identical forward and backward cone travel. This symmetry minimizes distortion, while precision-machined plates with sculpted edges maximize magnetic transfer through the gap. An aluminum shorting sleeve, pole cap, and top plate ring keep inductance linear throughout the stroke, reducing non-linearities and enhancing clean response into the midbass region.
