Dayton Audio has found the solution to HDMI frustrations!

Dayton Audio has found the simple solution for just about any HDMI problem, the HDEQ stabilizer. The HDEQ stabilizer is a passive device that corrects cable impedance mismatches.

The HDEQ installs at the very end of the HDMI chain and is completely passive. Impedance is restored to 50 ohms (100 ohms differential) and, in most cases, restores the pristine condition of your HDMI signal instantly, virtually eliminating screen sparkle. Thus allowing the signal to come through clearer than ever before.

HDMI was developed using Transmission Minimized Differential Signaling, TMDS for short. TMDS requires a cable characteristic impedance of 50 ohms (100 ohms differential) for correct signal decoding, and each piece of equipment within the HDMI chain must match this impedance. A simple HDMI switch, for instance, places multiple ports in parallel dropping the impedance. Long HDMI cables increase cable impedance due to the high frequency capacitance from skin effect.
